Fear is a constant struggle for me.
- That one day my husband will leave me.
- That I’ll one day lose my job.
- That everything will be taken away from me.
- That my past screw ups are the reason for my present struggles.
I fear almost everything. I’m anxious all the time and those anxious times cause some pretty big meltdowns even though I’m 31 years old.
The Bible calls us to fear not. It’s probably one of the most said phrases in Bible. Maria Furlough tackles how to overcome fear for good. It’s a process but she takes you through the steps. She uses her own experience of losing a child and her own journey through her fears.
This book is just great. You can really dive into it and look at your own fears. Even though I have a long way to go. I think that this book is a great stepping stone that I can really start to give my fears to God and walk with God through my own fears. I’m glad that this book dropped into my lap. It is a good reminder in this fearful world that there is something that can come out of the end of the tunnel. The discussion questions are great at the end of each chapter. You can really dive in and work out your fears. Everyone struggles and I think that it is okay to have a little fear but you can’t let it consume your life.
I really want to get a group together now to go through this book as a Bible study.
Thank you so much to Revell and Baker publishing group for sending me this book in return for my honest opinion.
4 out of 5 stars.
